Kent Herald is a news website that I had the pleasure of working on. I had been tasked with shaping the website’s overall design, logo, and writing engaging news articles. This portfolio showcases my contributions to this exciting project.
Setting up WordPress
When I began working on the Kent Herald website, I started with a blank canvas. To begin with, I had to install WordPress and configure essential settings, to ensuring a secure and stable environment for the website to thrive.
Creating an Aesthetic Look
I wanted Kent Herald to have its own unique look and feel. I carefully chose a theme that best fit my vision. By adjusting the layout, colours and fonts, I created a visually appealing design that was consistent throughout the site.
Website Identity
As part of my responsibilities for Kent Herald, I was entrusted with creating a distinctive logo that would represent the website’s brand identity. I wanted to capture the symbol of Kent while maintaining a unique and memorable design.
Navigation Menu
Understanding the importance of intuitive navigation, I carefully designed and implemented a user-friendly menu structure for Kent Herald. By strategically organizing categories, sections, and submenus, I ensured that visitors could effortlessly navigate the website and find the information they sought.
Compatibility
In today’s digital landscape, it is imperative for websites to be accessible across a range of devices and platforms. Recognizing this, I paid attention to responsive design principles, ensuring that the Kent Herald website seamlessly adapted to various screen sizes, from desktops to smartphones and tablets.
